Chr Hansen A/S wanted to utilize their newly acquired building for the overhaul of a new production process. Before they could begin, they needed to clear the space of valuable production equipment without damaging the building.

The Background

After acquiring a complete manufacturing site filled with valuable production equipment for the synthetic manufacture of Omega 3 oils, Chr Hansen A/S, a bioscience company based in Denmark wanted to utilize their newly acquired building for the overhaul of a new production process. Before they could begin, they needed to clear the space of valuable production equipment without damaging the building.

The Challenge

  • The clearance of original production equipment had to be done within a very specific and clear deadline.
  • New production equipment had been ordered, and installation had been scheduled.
  • Failure to clear the building would result in very expensive delays.
  • The highly valuable assets required removal without damaging the highly valuable building

The Results

Providing a turn-key solution, Liquidity Services was hired to both sell the equipment for maximum value and project manage the safe removal of the equipment without damaging the building. We created a highly researched global marketing campaign that identified the potential European end-user buyers of the specialized bio-science manufacturing equipment.

The assets were then offered to the market through a Private Treaty, which, when concluded, was followed by an online auction allowing for the successful meeting of the client’s clearance deadlines. Liquidity Services project managed the removal of the assets to ensure the job was done professionally. Larger pieces of the plant were removed by crane, requiring the removal of roofing and walls. Following the removal, Liquidity Services arranged and supervised the perfect restoration of the building.

Over 400 highly specialized stainless steel reactor tanks, very large evaporators, and condensers, centrifuges were sold, allowing Liquidity Services to meet the committed time frame of the project with zero health and safety issues.
