Alabama state surplus auction opens online Saturday with bargain boats, cars and more

Alabamians looking for deals on everything from office chairs to boats will get their chance when the state’s online surplus property auction opens Saturday.

The Surplus Property Division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs will open bidding at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12. The auction will run around the clock until 6 p.m. Sunday, July 20. Items up for bid include cars, trucks, boats, office and medical equipment and furniture no longer needed by state and federal agencies. Some items were voluntarily abandoned at airports across the Southeast and added to the inventory.
