Since Tim Burchett took office as mayor in September, Knox County has sold 15 county-owned vehicles on the website GovDeals.com. “When you’re dealing with a $650 million budget, $92,000 doesn’t seem like much. But when you consider that the median household income is less than $46,000 in Knox County, that $92,000 means a lot to our taxpayers,” Burchett said in a news release. “We were able to sell these vehicles without decreasing service to citizens, which is an efficient way of realizing savings for our taxpayers.”
