Notre Dame will auction off furniture, paintings, televisions and other items from the Morris Inn as the building will be renovated beginning this month. The university is using GovDeals, an online auction company that serves colleges and universities as well as governmental agencies.
The site, www.govdeals.com, helps institutions sell off property and assets no longer needed. The auction begins Saturday and runs through Oct. 17.
“We see GovDeals as providing us with a model for liquidating the contents of the Morris Inn quickly and easily without having to haul it anywhere or break it up by commodity type,” David Harr, associate vice president for auxiliary services, said in a news release.
