Transfer station equipment to be sold at auction

The town’s transfer station manager is taking a new approach to selling equipment that is no longer needed. Larry Kulowiec, the manager, is selling this surplus equipment through www.govdeals.com, an online auction service. Mr. Kulowiec said govdeals is similar to eBay, but only governments may put up items for sale. Anyone may bid on the items, and opening an account is free, he said. “This is kind of exciting,” said Mr. Kulowiec. “We don’t have to pay an auctioneer, although there is a fee for the site.” He explained that the 12% fee will be allocated with 10% paid by the buyer and the other 2% by the town.
