Franklin County’s innovative efforts to sell surplus and outdated equipment by using online auctions have reached $2 million — only the second Ohio county to hit that mark — and are helping local suburbs and townships stretch tight budgets. At their General Session on Tuesday, Franklin County Commissioners were asked to vote on renewing the succesful GovDeals online auction service which has helped the County sell a wide-range of outdated equipment, including computers, furniture, cars and motorcycles, school buses, a giant water tower, and more than 1,200 voting machines.
