The town of Leland is auctioning off an unusual surplus item: a brick house. Bidding starts at $500 for the two-bedroom, one-bathroom 1,316 square-foot home. While the house is for sale, the land under it is not.
That’s because it will eventually be part of the new Town Hall and Police Department headquarters slated for the corner of Town Hall Drive and Old Fayetteville Road. Officials are planning a July groundbreaking for the building.
