Caltex Australia’s Kurnell refinery in Sydney is set to be auctioned off, with bidders being offered the chance to see the plant working before it is shut down in October. Interested buyers can make an offer on the whole 135,000 barrels per day plant, or on individual units in the sale process being run by US-listed online marketplace for surplus energy equipment, Liquidity Services.
“This sale presents a rare opportunity for commercial buyers in the refining and petrochemical industry to purchase a fully-operational plant from a globally recognized organisation,” said Tom Burton, president of Liquidity Services’ Capital Assets Group.
