The town of Coeburn will auction off surplus equipment during an online-only event on Jan. 9. The town’s first auction will include emergency vehicles and parts, heavy trucks and trailers. The town is utilizing the GovDeals service offered for city, county and state governments or government agencies. Coeburn Town Manager Loretta Mays said the online auction is a good solution to selling surplus items. “After taking a look at GovDeals’ online auction site, I was astounded at the number of items and bidders on the site at any given time,” she said. “Online auctioning through GovDeals will require the least amount of manpower for our agency while bringing in the most revenue on our surplus items.”
