200 tons of military metal to be auctioned

When of one thinks of an auction, items like diamonds and exotic cars come to mind, but how about 400,000 pounds of military metal?

Four hovercraft used by the Navy to transport food, troops and ammunition from water to shore went up for sale Wednesday morning in a public auction.

GovernmentLiquidation.com listed the items for a starting bid of $25 each. Within hours, the bidding price went up to $11,000. According to experts, the craft will eventually be used as scrap metal.
