With staff time at a premium and surplus equipment and vehicles stacking up, administrators in Bartow are turning to cyberspace to clean out the city’s closets. The city is selling the surplus through govdeals.com, an online auction for government agency. So far, it’s working. “We’ve sold some vehicles, and we’re getting more money than we would have if they’d gone to the auction,” said Larry Lunsford, the city’s director of fleet maintenance.
