Liquidity Services makes Canadian acquisition

Washington-based Liquidity Services Inc., which expanded to Europe with its acquisition this year of U.K.-based auction service GoIndustry DoveBid plc, is acquiring Canadian firm National Electronics Service Association.

Liquidity Services paid $18 million up front for the company, and will pay additional cash payments based on future revenues and earnings in the next 24 to 26 months.

NESA helps companies manage and re-sell customer returns, particularly consumer electronics and telecommunications products.

Toronto-based NESA gives Liquidity Services its first distribution center in Canada and will let it cross sell its auctioned surplus goods to customers in both the U.S. and Canada. The acquisition also includes a repair and refurbishment business.
