Highlights from the Military Vehicle Preservation Association Convention

This summer, a team from AllSurplus (formerly Government Liquidation) set up shop at the Military Vehicle Preservation Association’s 38th annual convention held in Portland, Oregon. The three-day event drew thousands of military enthusiasts and featured a variety of vendor displays, which included:

  • Historical military paraphernalia for purchase
  • Impressive tanks and other combat vehicles dating back to WWII
  • Photo gallery documenting the rise and importance of wartime photojournalism throughout the decades

In addition to visiting exhibits, attendees were also invited to take a ride in a DUKW (an amphibious military truck), tour the nearby Evergreen Aviation Museum, and attend a military vehicle collection tour at Camp White, among other fun and interesting activities.

This MVPA convention is one event our team looks forward to attending every year; the hospitality is unmatched and we have a chance to connect with our new and longtime buyers who are excited to share stories about their most recent AllSurplus purchase with our team! Another highlight of the convention is the annual dinner and auction event that features an array of military-centric items available for bidding. This year, Liquidity Services’ own Tom Burton was invited to act as auctioneer for the live auction event and he did not disappoint. Taking bids on items from flight suites to flags to former used-in-combat gear, Tom encouraged the crowd’s enthusiasm for bidding on these unique items.

While packing our booth up on the final day of the convention was bittersweet, we are already looking forward to next year’s MVPA show in Kentucky and hope to see even more of our AllSurplus buyers and friends!
